It's Monday! What Are You Reading

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? a place to meet up and share what you have been, and are about to be reading over the week. It’s a great post to organize yourself. It’s an opportunity to visit and comment and er… add to your groaning TBR pile! So welcome in everyone. This meme started on J Kaye’s blog and then was hosted by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn here at The Book Date.

Hi everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend! I am currently on a short ski trip right now which is very exciting! I have been snowboarding since I was about 13 years old, and I've never grown tired of it! It's just me and my two younger sisters which is always nice :) I've also been preparing non-stop for my upcoming medical school interview! It's scheduled for Feb. 10th, I'm so nervous! But also excited - I would love to move to England as that's where the medical school is (Waterstones here I come!) Haha! Anyway, in terms of books, here is a look at what I've been up to lately and what's next!

Hi guys!! Hope everyone had a great weekend! I actually rescued a cat last week! She is a Sphynx (hairless cat) named Sophia Dobby. (Well it's Sophia, but I added Dobby because.. the similarity is uncanny lol ;P) She was in kind of rough shape but I've been slowly getting her on the mend - we've got medications for her rash and ear infection and both are getting much better. Soon she will be back up to perfect health! I'm so happy she's safe now :)
In terms of books, it's been a very slow reading week. Too busy getting Sophia back and forth from the vet and settled into my house. But I did finish one book for review and am almost through another!. It looks I will be hitting 80 books for 2021! My goal was 50 so I'm excited - but hoping to make that 100 next year!

Hi everyone! I hope you all had a great Halloween! Today is November 1st and is one of my favorite days of the year because I can FINALLY get excited about Christmas without people thinking I'm weird lol! Christmas is my absolute favorite holiday and overall time of year. There's something so magical about all of the lights and sparkles and snow! The feeling is literally indescribable! I've already started my Christmas shopping (which is very odd for me, usually I'm much later despite my enthusiasm haha). So I should have plenty of time for my books this month which is amazing! I've got a whole stack to get through, so we'll see how it goes!

Book Blogger Hop

This is hosted by Billy at Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer! Hop over to their page to grab a button and join in the fun!

This Week's Question:

Have you ever read a book on Halloween? If so, what was the title? (submitted by Billy @ Coffee Addicted Writer)

Oh probably! I read something almost every day so I'm certain that Halloween is no different! As for specific titles, I've got no idea lol! I don't read anything particular on Halloween, just whatever book I'm in the middle of at the time!

Happy Monday everyone! I hope everyone had a great weekend! I went on vacation the week before last, and here in Canada you have to quarantine for two weeks afterwards - so this is my last week of quarantine! Honestly, I have to say it's been quite a productive time so far lol! I've been reading books, catching up on shows, and working on my own novel for a writing competition!
I hope everyone has a fantastic week! Happy reading!

Can't Wait Wednesday #27

Can't Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Wishful Endings to spotlight and discuss the books we're excited about that we have yet to read. Generally, they're books that have yet to be released.

Hi everyone! Happy Wednesday! I'm back from vacation and therefore right back to blogging! I came home to a NetGalley approval for this new Jessica Olson book! Have you read her debut, Sing Me Forgotten? I haven't picked up a copy yet, but I'm excited for this next book regardless! I hope it's as good as it sounds!

Author: Jessica S. Olson
Publish Date: March 1st, 2022
Publisher: Inkyard Press

Myra Whitlock has a gift. One many would kill for.

She’s an artist whose portraits alter people’s real-life bodies, a talent she must hide from those who would kidnap, blackmail, and worse in order to control it. Guarding that secret is the only way to keep her younger sister safe now that their parents are gone.

But one frigid night, the governor’s wife discovers the truth and threatens to expose Myra if she does not complete a special portrait that would resurrect the governor's dead son. Desperate, Myra ventures to his legendary stone mansion.

Once she arrives, however, it becomes clear the boy’s death was no accident. Someone dangerous lurks within these glittering halls. Someone harboring a disturbing obsession with portrait magic. .

Myra cannot do the painting until she knows what really happened, so she turns to the governor’s older son, a captivating redheaded poet. Together, they delve into the family’s most shadowed affairs, racing to uncover the truth before the secret Myra spent her life concealing makes her the killer’s next victim.

From Sing Me Forgotten author Jessica S. Olson comes a gothic fantasy murder mystery perfect for fans of Kerri Maniscalco and Erin A. Craig.

Hello hello! Hope everyone had a great weekend! I am spending this week getting ready for my vacation! It feels weird to be going away right now, but I hope it's fun and relaxing regardless! In other news... I'm considering starting a BookTube account... but I'm not sure if I have enough time to stay consistent. What I may try is pre-filming a few videos to see how easy/difficult it is with all the editing and such and go from there. I'm not sure yet though.... I have my Twitter and Instagram accounts as well as this blog to keep track of so adding a new platform may be overboard for my schedule. It also seems like it is much harder to get a bookish account off the ground these days - from what I remember in high school, engagement seemed so much higher! Ah well.. these are my thoughts lately lol! On to books!
