So same message as the Poison Princess review - I've read this entire series so I will do my best to review based on ONLY this book but my feeling of the overall series may cause a bit of bias.. just want that to be clear, as I love these books!

Evie is back!! We left on quite the cliffhanger after Poison Princess - Jack has just witnessed Evie in full blown Empress mode and we're not sure how he feels about it all... though his reaction before the book ended did not bode well. 

This book starts right where the last one left off, and Jack and Evie seem to be getting so much closer! I absolutely love the relationship these two have - so sweet and sexy. I like that they both bring out a different side in the other.

But now we have Death in the picture. As the winner of the last couple of games, Death has been alive for a LONG time and he remembers his entire history with the game and Evie - the latter of which has been a complete disaster. Evie on the other hand, doesn't really remember much aside from her flashbacks. She is not the same person she was in past games, but Death doesn't know that. This book had me conflicted. While I absolutely ADORE Jackson, I'm starting to have a soft spot for Death as well... it's very rare that I read a love triangle book and don't immediately know which team I'm on so props to Kresley for tearing my heartstrings in two directions! 

This was an excellent addition to the series - I absolutely encourage all YA/paranormal/fantasy/dystopian lovers to give it a try!
