Don’t miss the explosive conclusion to the Flames of Time trilogy.

Ava Flynn walked through flames to erase the past and bring her little brother, Josh, back from the dead. But the reboot doesn’t come without strings. While navigating her new reality, Ava must avoid Maddox... without fracturing the timeline. If she fails, she may never find Laith again.

With her own heart at stake, Ava scours time for the key to unraveling the curse binding her soul to both Laith’s and Maddox’s. One brother is the love of her life. And the other... Not even death will stop him from keeping them apart.

As Ava’s present collides with the brothers’ pasts, she discovers that breaking the curse might have unintended consequences. And this time, her soul isn’t the only one on the line.

EXCERPT FROM SCATTERED SOULS (BOOK TWO):

“Ava, do you trust me?” Laith’s words echoed in my brain.

I did trust him, though I had no idea why after all the underhanded crap he’d pulled since we’d met. But trusting him didn’t stop the bitter wind lashing me through the air like a sail in a storm. I couldn’t have been more than moments away from being torn apart at the seams.

Even after Laith snatched me from the jaws of death, drawing me into the empty space between time, I felt the icy water biting into my skin like tiny, razor-sharp teeth. Even after we’d vanished into the nothingness, I heard the crashing of the waves at the lighthouse on Casco Bay. The angry sound echoed all around me as we spiraled through the black abyss, as if I’d pressed my ear to a giant seashell and somehow fallen into the dark tunnel within. We seemed to fall forever, tumbling through the emptiness, my wet hair swirling around me, repeatedly slapping me in the face. Thanks to Maddox, I was no stranger to time travel, but it wasn’t an experience I’d ever get used to.

Maddox.

The devastation reflected in his dark eyes as my hand slipped from his etched itself across my memory like the burn of a fresh tattoo. Leaving him behind was like having my entire existence ripped away from me and getting sent to purgatory—like a rusty dagger plunged straight into my heart.

And even with his twin brother beside me—the other piece to our messed-up soul mate puzzle—I missed Maddox desperately.

My hand had gone numb from the icy chill and the death grip I had on Laith. He’d sacrificed himself to save me. How could I ever thank him for that? Despite the cold and the wet, he held tight to me, lacing our fingers together, satisfying the skin-to-skin contact necessary to tether me to the jump. But we were too far apart for me to feel secure.

Icy wind bit into me like a million knives, stabbing my skin over and over again until I fully expected to lose consciousness. My body thrashed around as if on a carnival ride gone wrong, making my stomach roil. Unlike the other times I’d traveled through the portal, something felt off, as if the gods of time somehow knew one solid gust could tear us apart.

Then as if we’d never touched at all, my fingers slipped from Laith’s, and I spun away from him.

About Erica Lucke Dean:

After walking away from her career as a business banker to pursue writing full-time, Erica moved from the hustle and bustle of the big city to a small tourist town in the North Georgia Mountains where she lives in a 90-year-old haunted farmhouse with her workaholic husband, her 180lb lap dog, and at least one ghost.

When she’s not busy writing or tending to her collection of crazy chickens, diabolical ducks, and a quintet of piglets, hell bent on having her for dinner, she’s either reading bad fan fiction or singing karaoke in the local pub. Much like the characters in her books, Erica is a magnet for disaster, and has been known to trip on air while walking across flat surfaces.

How she’s managed to survive this long is one of life’s great mysteries.

You can find out more about Erica, in addition to her humorous blog posts and disasters, on her website.
