Title: Enshadowed
Author: Kelly Creagh
Release Date: August 28th 2012
Publisher: Atheneum
Book 2 in the Nevermore Trilogy

Summary: While Varen remains a prisoner in the dream-world, Isobel is haunted by his memory. He appears to her in her dreams and soon, even in her waking life. But is she just imagining it? Isobel knows she must find a way back to Varen. She makes plans to go to Baltimore. There, she confronts the figure known throughout the world as the Poe Toaster—the same dark man who once appeared to Isobel in her dreams, calling himself “Reynolds.”
Isobel succeeds in interrupting the Toaster’s ritual and, in doing so, discovers a way to return to the dream-world. Soon, she finds herself swept up in a realm which not only holds remnants of Poe’s presence, but has also now taken on the characteristics of Varen’s innermost self. It is a dark world comprised of fear, terror, and anger.
When Isobel once more encounters Varen, she finds him changed. With his mind poisoned by the dream world, he becomes a malevolent force, bent on destroying all—even himself. Now Isobel must face a new adversary, one who also happens to be her greatest love.

I am so excited for Enshadowed to come out! Nevermore, the first in the trilogy, was absolutely amazing! I gave it 5 stars! :D So I have pretty high expectations for this book :p But I don't think I will be disappointed - Kelly Creagh knows how to write a book :D If you haven't read Nevermore yet, I highly suggest you do, and then be prepared to wait in torture until Enshadowed comes out :D

Entwined Review

Summary:  Azalea is trapped. Just when she should feel that everything is before her . . . beautiful gowns, dashing suitors, balls filled with dancing . . . it's taken away. All of it.
The Keeper understands. He's trapped, too, held for centuries within the walls of the palace. And so he extends an invitation.
Every night, Azalea and her eleven sisters may step through the enchanted passage in their room to dance in his silver forest.
But there is a cost.
The Keeper likes to keep things.
Azalea may not realize how tangled she is in his web until it is too late.

Rating: ♥♥♥♥
Cover: 5/5 I am just totally in love with this cover! I didn't even know anything about this book when I picked it up, I just wanted to read it because I was so drawn by the gorgeous cover :D

Review: So this was a retelling of the story The 12 Dancing Princesses, adn I thought Heather Dixon did an amazing job! It was totally unique yet still following the original plot to some extent... very creative that's for sure :p

I thought it was so cool how the 12 girls are all named after flowers, and they are all in alphabetical order! and ok I know this could be a total waste of time but here are their ames from oldest to youngest: Azalea (my favorite :p) Bramble, Clover, Delphinium, Evening Primrose (Eve), Flora, Goldenrod, Hollyhock (Holli), Ivy, Jessamine, Kale, and Lily. So cool right?? :p I think my top two favorite names are Azalea and Jessamine. ANyway, Azalea was the main character and she did a fantastic job! After the mother passed away, Azalea took on the role of substitute mother which, to 11 younger siblings, is abviously pretty tough. But she pulled through and does an amazing job of it! :p

So after the mother dies, the palace goes into mourning - this means all clothing is died black, all drapery is pulled over the windows and the king and princesses are not allowed outside unless it is for Royal Business. Can you imagine how horrible that would be?? But they just can't stop dancing so they find a place where they can continue - and meet Mr. Keeper. He isn't what he seems so be forewarned :/ But then there is Mr. Bradford! Oh he is so cute! The entire book i was wishing and hoping that he would end up with Azalea! You gotta read teh book to see if  my wish comes true :p muaha.

The plot, as I said before, was amazing! There were so many twists and turns that you can't help but become Entwined in all the secrets! haha sry had to say that :p Overall, this book was a great read! I actually finished the entire thing in 1 day :D So give it a shot!

Q. What superhero is your alter-ego?

Oooohh I'd say Invisible Woman :D She takes on a sort of motherly figure to her brother which I feel I can relate to because of my 3 younger siblings.... also she's just really cool :p I mean founding member of Fantastic Four?? cool! :D

Bargains and Betrayals Review

Summary: Locked away at Pecan Place, Jessie finds her situation to be even more dangerous than she feared. While she struggles to maintain her sanity and discover answers about the group that seems less and less like any legitimate government agency, Pietr fights to keep their relationship alive. But very aware that his mother’s time is running out, Pietr makes a deal he doesn’t dare tell Jessie about. Because the deal Pietr’s made could mean the death of far more than his tenuous relationship with the girl he loves.

Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥
Cover: 4/5 I really like theses covers :p The eye in the background of each of them is really neat.

Review: Oh. My. Gosh. This book was unbelievable! Holy Crap! It was full of blood, guts, love , and action!! It was so awesome!

Lol ok now that my mini-rant is over, here's the real review.

So first things first - the action. There was definitely no shortage. There were people exploding, people dying, blood everywhere - let me tell you, if you get queasy over blood, you may have to skim over some parts :p Also, it was great how the action was straight through. There was some from beginning to endbut instead of it being overkill, it made the book that much more amazing!

And then there's all the characters. Jesse and Pietr! Ohmygoodness I absolutely love them! They are honestly one of my favorite book couples ever and in Bargains and Betrayals, the tests and doubts their love goes through... it had me jumping in my seat, convinced they weren't going to last! But they managed to pull through again and again. It was so sad every time Pietr fell into one of his bouts of self-doubt, but I loved that Jess was there for him, convincing him otherwise every time. :) Seriously, it almost made me cry when they were oh so sweet to each other :D

And then there was Amy and Max. Max, who was such a player before he met Amy and fell in love :p I loved how you got to see a different side to him in this book. His love for Amy really changed him - definitely for the better. He's so protective of her too... especially when it comes to Marvin. And let me tell you - there is some Marvin in this book. But other than that, it's just really great how you get to see the characters of Max and Amy grow as their relationship strengthens.

There are a few other characters that we see more of as well. Alex, Cat, Annabelle Lee, Wanda, "Mother" (of Pietr, Cat, and Alex), and Jess and Anna's dad are just a few of the characters that played a role in making this book as great as it is.

Overall though, the plot itself was just downright amazing! There was never a point where I was bored or I felt the book was lacking. It was exciting and surprising on every  page the whole way through! If you haven't had a chance to read the series yet, I strongly suggest you put it at the top of your to-read list - you won't be disappointed :D

Beauty Queens Review

Summary: The fifty contestants in the Miss Teen Dream pageant thought this was going to be a fun trip to the beach, where they could parade in their state-appropriate costumes and compete in front of the cameras. But sadly, their airplane had another idea crashing on a desert island and leaving the survivors stranded with little food, little water, and practically no eyeliner.

What's a beauty queen to do? Continue to practice for the talent portion of the program--or wrestle snakes to the ground? Get a perfect tan--or learn to run wild? And what should happen when the sexy pirates show up?

Welcome to the heart of non-exfoliated darkness. Your tour guide? None other than Libba Bray, the hilarious, sensational, Printz Award-winning author of A Great and Terrible Beauty and Going Bovine. The result is a novel that will make you laugh, make you think, and make you never see beauty the same way again.

Rating: ♥♥♥♥
Cover: 4/5 This cover is too cool :p

Review: Ok so first of all, I think the idea for this book is the funniest, stupidest thing I've ever heard. And that is just what i got - the funniest. stupidest read ever! :p I mean come on, beauty queens stranded on an island?? You have to read a book like that! I will be honest though, the reason I gave this book 4 stars opposed to my initial decision of 3, was the ending. I'm a total sucker for those cute, happy endings :p Otherwise, I do think I would have just given it 3 stars :/ Don't get me wrong, it was good and all, but just not something you'd find on my list of favorite books.

But don't let that mislead you. There was definitely a healthy dose of action, and government spies and conspiracy! And of course, lip gloss and sequins. Oh and then the pirates. :p Teehe I mean what is a book without hot guys? Pirates no less. Sheesh especially when dealing with beauty queens. However, there was also guns, blood, violence... I think it tied the story together well :D

The characters in this story are all fun and memorable as well. I think the one that stuck with me was Miss New Mexico who had a tray stuck in her head the whole book - yup its as excitingly stupid as it sounds :p You'll have fun seeing all the surprising truths that come out about some of them though, that's for sure

Overall, Beauty Queens was a pretty good book. Kind of a fun read that's good for when you have one of those nice weekends when you have nothing to do :)

Open Curtain

Rating: ♥♥♥
Cover: 4/5 I think the cover is really pretty. love Bertie's (I think its Bertie:p) hair and all the faeries around her - so cute! :p

Review: So after hearing how great this book was from so many people, I was really excited to check it out! I thought it'd be an amazing read that would leave me desperate for more... sadly, I found I was a bit disappointed :( I mean it was a good book, with some pretty awesome characters but I just found that there was such a big hype over something that was kinda lacking.

Out of all the characters, I'd have to say Ariel was my favourite - usually the main character of a book (in this case, Bertie) is my favorite, but Ariel was so much more exciting! I looked forward to his parts in the book, and was almost bored when he wasn't there.

I also just didn't really like the way in which Eyes Like Stars was written. With the occasional script breaks and things like that... it just didn't read like a novel to me :/ I'm sorry for those who don't agree, this book just wasn't my thing.

However, I will continue to read the series because I'm interested to see what happens to certain characters - such as Ariel :p And also because I just can't leave a series unfinished no matter what :D

The second installment in the fantastic The Chemical Garden trilogy.

Summary: Rhine and Gabriel have escaped the mansion, but danger is never far behind.

Just as Rhine uncovers what plans await her, her fortune turns again. With Gabriel at her side, Rhine travels through an environment as grim as the one she left a year ago - surroundings that mirror her own feelings of fear and hopelessness.

The two are determined to get to Manhattan, to relative safety with Rhine’s twin brother, Rowan. But the road there is long and perilous - and in a world where young women only live to age twenty and young men die at twenty-five, time is precious. Worse still, they can’t seem to elude Rhine’s father-in-law, Vaughn, who is determined to bring Rhine back to the mansion...by any means necessary.

I am excited beyond words for Fever to come out! I loved Wither so much and I just can't wait to see what becomes of all the amazing characters in this book! ok so Follow Friday is something I see on tons of blogs!! I've decided to do it on my blog too :D
Follow Friday is hosted by Parajunkee

Q. If you could pick one character in a book, movie, or television show to swap places with, who would it be?

Oooohh this is easy! :D I would so totally swap places with Elena from The Vampire Diaries because, duh!, she can have Damon!!! Like omgg, if I was her, I would ditch Stefan the first chance i get and be with Damon! Lord if he was my boyfriend... there are no words to describe how happy I would be! :D

So who would  you swap places with?? If you do Follow Friday, leave the link to your response in the comments :)

Wolfsbane Review

Summary: When Calla Tor wakes up in the lair of the Searchers, her sworn enemies, she’s certain her days are numbered. But then the Searchers make her an offer—one that gives her the chance to destroy her former masters and save the pack—and the man—she left behind. Is Ren worth the price of her freedom? And will Shay stand by her side no matter what? Now in control of her own destiny, Calla must decide which battles are worth fighting and how many trials true love can endure and still survive.

Rating: ♥♥♥♥
Cover: 3/5 I really like this cover, its interesting and i like the shading and coloring that was chosen, but personally, I think the original cover was SO much prettier, and just perfect for the book!

Review: Wolfsbane, the secong novel in the Nightshade series, was really good! I liked alot of aspects of it... although some were a little nerve racking, hence the 4 stars instead of 5 :p

One of the great things is that this book is full of tons of action! I mean seriously until the very last page, there's something Über exciting going on! :D But then theres a part in this book that actually makes you shed a tear :( It's totally unexpected and just really upsetting :( But it goes towards making this book as amazing as it is :p

So the first aspect that i didn't really like was Shay's character. I just thought he was way to clingy, way to intrusional, way too pushy, and just plain annoying! Now don't get me wrong, I absolutely loved him in Nightshade and I was totally Team Shay... but now, after reading Wolfsbane, I'm sorry to say that im more Team Ren :/

Now, because of my recent team switch, it was kind of disappointing that Ren wasn't a main character in this book. He was talked about a lot, and was the answer to some MAJOR mysteries :p but he didn't make an appearance until closer to the end of the book :( This was sad. But, like I said, he was the topic of many a conversation, and you will pee your pants hearing his connections to some of the other characters in the book :p

And that brings us to characters :p Omg I absolutely loved all the newly introduced characters!! My favorite was definitely Monroe, followed by his daughter Adne. And then there was Ethan and Connor.... sigh so funny :p So in short, the new characters are awesome! Oh and they're all Searchers!! Teehe the role of Searchers in this book was awesome! I loved all the different jobs they had such as a Weaver (read the book, and the whole explanations there)

So in Wolfsbane, alot of questions are answered, tons of lies are uncovered, and then tons of new questions are formed :P Lol the perfect setup for a novel in a series. And of course, the end of the book has the loved and dreaded CLIFFHANGER!! :D Oh boy, you read it and your like BLOODROSE!! PLZ COME OUT!! :p

Overall, great book with great aspects! Plz pick it up and read it if you get a chance, and do the same for Nightshade if you haven't read that yet. You won't regret it! :D

Demonglass Review

Summary: Sophie Mercer thought she was a witch.

That was the whole reason she was sent to Hex Hall, a reform school for delinquent Prodigium (aka witches, shapeshifters, and fairies). But that was before she discovered the family secret, and that her hot crush, Archer Cross, is an agent for The Eye, a group bent on wiping Prodigium off the face of the earth.

Turns out, Sophie’s a demon, one of only two in the world—the other being her father. What’s worse, she has powers that threaten the lives of everyone she loves. Which is precisely why Sophie decides she must go to London for the Removal, a dangerous procedure that will destroy her powers.

But once Sophie arrives she makes a shocking discovery. Her new friends? They’re demons too. Meaning someone is raising them in secret with creepy plans to use their powers, and probably not for good. Meanwhile, The Eye is set on hunting Sophie down, and they’re using Archer to do it. But it’s not like she has feelings for him anymore. Does she?

Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥
Cover: 4/5 Such an awesome cover :p

Review: If I thought Hex Hall was amazing, then there are no words for Demonglass :p It was so good that when I it came to the end of the book, I just kept flipping pages, desperate for more.

So as you can see, I gave Hex Hall 4 stars and Demonglass 5. This is for a number of reasons. Firstly, there was so much more action in this one! It was great! Also, it was really nice to see Sophie and her Dad's relationship change - they got closer and it was just kinda sweet. There were a few more things of course, but I can't say because they are some major spoilers! I will say this though - if you loved Cal, then this book is definitely gonna be your number 1 :p

So where to start :p Well the action in this book was so intense!! I loved it! I found the first one... I guess lacking is the word, but Demonglass has more than made up for that :p There were crazy demons, crazy spells... everything was just crazy chaos :p But it was so awesome! Ans of course the characters were all awesome... the totally cliché, yet totally untiring love triangle also makes an appearance in this book :p woohoo! I won't say between who, cause you might not have read the first book yet... but lets just say it is de-lic-ious!! :D lol

The ending was a total cliffhanger!  I mean the entire book was full of non-stop events but then the ending just made you go WOAH!!! :p it's that good :p

I sooo cannot wait for Spellbound to come out!!

Title: The Vampire Diaries: The Hunters Vol.1: Phantom
Author: L.J. Smith
Release Date: October 25, 2011
Publisher: HarperTeen
A continuation of the amazing Vampire Diaries series.

Summary:  The past is never far. . . .

Elena Gilbert and her friends saved Fell’s Church from evil spirits bent on destroying it, but the town’s freedom came at a price: Damon Salvatore’s life.

Damon’s death changes everything. He and his vampire brother, Stefan, had been locked in a vicious battle for Elena’s heart. Now that he’s gone, Elena and Stefan can finally be together. So why can’t Elena stop dreaming of Damon? As Elena’s feelings for Damon grow, a new darkness is brewing in Fell’s Church. Elena has been to hell and back, but this demon is like nothing she’s ever seen. Its only goal is to kill Elena and everyone she loves.

OMGG!!! ok so i am in absolute love with The Vampire Diaries series so this book is going to be on my bookshelf the day it comes out! :D I can't believe the release date is so soon! Lol well after the last book in the series, with the BIGGEST cliffhanger ever, I have been waiting for this forever!! I am very disappointed, however, that L.J. Smith will not be writing the last three books in the series, including this one. I'm not sure who is, and the cover says L.J. Smith, but apparently the t.v. show producers have asked to take over :( I'm very sad about this, but i just hope that the rest of the series is as amazing as all the ones before them :p

Hex Hall Review

Summary: Three years ago, Sophie Mercer discovered that she was a witch. It's gotten her into a few scrapes. Her non-gifted mother has been as supportive as possible, consulting Sophie's estranged father--an elusive European warlock--only when necessary. But when Sophie attracts too much human attention for a prom-night spell gone horribly wrong, it's her dad who decides her punishment: exile to Hex Hall, an isolated reform school for wayward Prodigium, a.k.a. witches, faeries, and shapeshifters.
By the end of her first day among fellow freak-teens, Sophie has quite a scorecard: three powerful enemies who look like supermodels, a futile crush on a gorgeous warlock, a creepy tagalong ghost, and a new roommate who happens to be the most hated person and only vampire student on campus. Worse, Sophie soon learns that a mysterious predator has been attacking students, and her only friend is the number-one suspect.
As a series of blood-curdling mysteries starts to converge, Sophie prepares for the biggest threat of all: an ancient secret society determined to destroy all Prodigium, especially her.

Rating: ♥♥♥♥
Cover: 4/5 These covers are so cool! I just find the whole reflection thing so awesome! :p

Review: Wow well first of all let's just say that before reading Hex Hall, witches were definitely not one of my favorite supernatural creatures... now they're in my top 3! :p This book was exciting from beginning to end. There was always something going on and Sopie Mercer is definitely on my list of fave strong, fearful, and kick-ass female characters! I loved how cool she was! Even when faced with some life threatning situation, she had a snarky sarcastic comment on the tip of her tongue! :p There was honestly a laugh or two on every page.

And what good is a book without a romance of some kind?? Despite her tough exterior, Sophie's helpless crush on the hot warlock Archer Cross was so cute! I swear the entire time I was reading the book, I was begging the pages for something to happen that would bring them together :p I won't tell you if my wishes came true though - you gotta read the book for that!

Other than the amazing plot, full of action and romance, I thought the characters were great! Seriously!! There were so many awesome characters that brought this book together... I'd have to say Jenna, the only vampire student at Hex Hall and Sophie's roommate, was my favorite character besides Sophie and Archer. I just loved how she was such a good friend to Sophie and stuck around no matter what happened!

Overall, Hex Hall was an awesome book and I absolutely cannot wait to read the second book in the series, Demonglass.
